Sitting too long Increases Heart Risks
A study that followed 17,000 Canadians, age 18-90, for 12 years showed that sitting was associated with an elevated risk of cardiovascular disease, regardless of how physically active a person is. In other words, if you sit for most of the day, you’re at an increased risk for heart disease, obesity, diabetes, and some cancers, even if you run four miles every morning. Don’t give up that run. Just remember to take “movement breaks” throughout the day. That’s what your body wants.
