Steelwood Chair
Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec call their Steelwood Chair “stable and democratic, universal and long-lasting.” The design thoughtfully combines two traditional materials, wood and steel (in painted and galvanized versions) to communicate both warmth and strength, and fits effortlessly in casual or elegant settings.
Skilled metalworkers in Italy use a series of complex mechanical procedures to gradually shear and shape the metal pieces. The legs and round seat are milled out of solid wood. Offered in a selection of painted or natural finishes and frame colors, the chair’s subtle silhouette adapts to a number of environments.
